UW vs. Lewis & Clark: 10/20 and 10/21

University of Washington’s Pac-8 hockey team is off to a great start with a 2-0 record for its opening weekend against Lewis and Clark. The Huskies won 7-1 on Friday night and 4-1 Saturday night.

On Friday’s game, four goals were scored in the first period including two goals that went into the net 32 seconds apart. Three more goals were added to the Husky’s score in the second period, the last goal by Brett Lawrence giving him a hat-trick for the night.

Saturday’s game consisted of a scoreless first period. Three goals were scored in the second period with the second and third goals clocked in 26 seconds apart. A goal was added to each team in the third period making the final score 4-1 Huskies. Ten penalties were handed out to both teams during the first and second periods.

Coach Cindy Dayley comments, “The team played the second period very well. This game was the best played game so far into the season and the team came together really well.”

With a 2-0 record this season, come out to next week’s game against WSU Cougars. The puck drops at 10 pm on Friday and again at 9:30 pm Saturday night.
