Welcome Back!
The Huskies start the New Year by hosting the UCLA Bruins on Saturday and
Sunday nights at 9:30pm and 6:45pm, January 6th and 7th. These games are
especially important in the PAC-8 ranking, with the Huskies currently in 2nd
place and UCLA in 3rd place. With two wins against UCLA, the Huskies most
likely will see the Bruins again during the PAC-8 championship in Eugene,
OR.
Also, please note that Sunday night’s game is dedicated to youth hockey in
the Seattle area, honoring SnoKing Ice Hockey. Dropping the ceremonial puck
is a representative from the organization. All youth players get in for $3.
Welcome SnoKing Hockey!
Rankings!
The Huskies are currently ranked 2nd in the PAC-8 right behind USC. The
Huskies are also ranked 10th in the ACHA-West, right behind Oregon, despite
beating them twice, 5-3 and 4-1. Oregon is also ahead of UCLA in the
rankings, even after losing to the Bruins twice this year. For more details
on the ACHA standings, visit http://members.aol.com/dblevins99/Rankings.htm

The Following Weekend!
The Huskies play Stanford on January 12th and 13th at 10pm and 9:30pm. The
Dawgs beat the Crimson twice, 8-2 and 9-1, in California and look forward to
taking two more wins at home to seal their place in the PAC-8 rankings.
These are the second and third to last home games of the season!

What’s New?!
Husky Hockey is excited to announce the completion of the 2000-2001 game
programs! After months of searching for a print-house to donate their
services, Printex Press offered to create the program along with Image East,
of Bellevue, Washington. Over 700 copies of the 20-page program were printed
and will be available for free at the main gate at home games! Thanks
Printex Press and Image East! For all your printing needs, work with Printex
Press and tell them Husky Hockey sent you!
The Husky Hockey web site has posted more game action photos in the photo

Volunteers!
Husky Hockey always needs volunteers. If you would like to donate a couple
of hours per week, we would love your help. The main areas we have
challenges with are 1. fundraising and 2. recruiting. These jobs can be done
from near and far… so don’t let distance stop you! So, if you have the
interest, we would love the help. Also, if you enjoy public relations,
running the clock, keeping score, working the penalty bench, selling retail,
or whatever… we always need the help. Just write to zoeharris@yahoo.com
and she will set you up.
Support!
Thanks for all the wonderful people who donating are to Husky Hockey. We
appreciate your well-wished and financial support. Without you, Husky Hockey
would not be here!
Husky Hockey
Activists! You can help us!
Husky Hockey is trying to get their web site linked from the main University
of Washington Sports pages called http://www.GoHuskies.com
because so many fans and recruits say they have a hard time finding us
buried in the Recreational Sports Department listings. The team has been
told that only varsity schedules are posted there and we have tried to
suggest a small link to our site in the SportsFinder page (http://gohuskies.fansonly.com/wash-s-finder.html)
with “non-varsity” listed next to it. Help Husky Hockey by writing to
the to Jim Daves, Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations, at jdaves@u.washington.edu
and kindly suggest that you like to see us listed on the SportsFinder page!
