February 12th Colorado State University Rams Crush Huskies
Fri. Feb. 6, 2004 - Colorado State University cruised over the Huskies 12-
1, notching another victory and giving further evidence why they are #1 in
the ACHA-West Region. The Huskies held the Rams off in the first period
1-0, with Husky goaltender Matt Harrow battling off 27 shots. However,
by the end of the second period it was 4-0 as the Rams became more
precise. In the third period the Huskies just didn’t have the legs in the city
that is a mile high. The Rams scored 8 goals in the third, with only Husky
Brett Lawrence (from Brad Hajner) popping the puck in the net on a two-
on-one play to spoil the shutout for the Rams. Harrow took 68 shots on
the night, with 95% of the play in the Huskies end, while the Dawgs
served up 9 shots on the night.

Sat. Feb. 7, 2004 – Colorado State University (CSU) repeated their score
from the first night, crushing the Dawgs 12-1. While the Huskies looked
better on the ice, this time the Rams jumped to an early start by scoring
5 goals in the first period. They notched another 4 points on the board in
the second period, but Husky Hadley Ma scored on a breakaway to once
again ruin the shutout for the Rams. To top off the night CSU put another
three goals in the third period. While the Huskies seemed to get out of
their zone more often, goaltender Matt Harrow faced 72 shots, with the
Huskies increasing their shots to 18.

January 29th Huskies Split with WSU
Friday January 30, 2004 – Husky assistant captain, Sean O’Brien (assisted
by Michael Spector), put the Dawg on the board five minutes into the
game. Three minutes later Freshman Jason Kitay scores his first Husky
Hockey goal (assisted by Brett Lawrence), to end the first period 2-0. The
Husky’s final goal was in the third period by Brett Lawrence (assisted by
Brad Hajner), to notch the win 3-0. Goaltender Matt Harrow secures his
first shutout of the year by stopping 26 shots.

Saturday January 31, 2004 – Despite having to dress in five minutes, with
no off-ice warm-up, and missing a third of the team at the start of the
game due to a false game time, the Huskies again jump out to 2-0 in the
first period. Brett Lawrence (assisted by TJ Anderson) puts up the first
goal, and Shayne Sasseen (assisted by Jamie O’Brien) scores the second
goal. The Dawgs notch third goal by Sean O’Brien (assisted by Lawrence)
in the last minutes of the second period for a 3-0 lead. WSU went up on
the board early in the third period, then 8 minutes later to catch up 3-2.
With 3:28 left in the game the Huskies mysteriously start to pile into the
penalty box. WSU scores to tie the game with 48 seconds left on the clock
while 5-on-3. The Cougars score the game-winner with 24 second left,
again in a 5-on-3 power play situation. Shots were tied at 33 apiece.

Seattle with an ACHA West ranking of three, and a perfect 15-0 PAC-8
record. The Huskies countered with a number 10 ranking in the West and
a 10-1 league record. Despite out shooting the Trojans 30-27, the
Huskies dropped a heartbreaker to USC 4-1. [More]

Sat. Jan 24, 2004 - It was déjà vu for the Huskies on Saturday night, as
they give the Trojans a run for their money but end up on the short end
of the stick as USC won 5-1. The win keeps USC’s PAC-8 record perfect,
while the Huskies dropped their second in a row, and third PAC-8
game. [More]

The Huskies - I-5 Cup Champions for a 4th year

Fri. Jan 16, 2004 - The Huskies capture their 4th consecutive Athletic
Awards I-5 Cup Championship title with a 3-2 victory over the Oregon
Ducks in Eugene. Oregon took a 2-goal lead with a goal in the first and
another in the second period. Brett Lawrence put the Huskies on the
board with a power play goal three minutes into the third period. Less
than a minute later Sasha Alic scored his first Husky Hockey goal to
tie the game. With 10:44 left in the game, Sean O'Brien scored the game
winner while the Dawgs were short-handed.

Sat. Jan 17, 2004 - The Oregon Ducks took a 2-goal lead in the first
period, however the Huskies tied the game in the second. Sean O'Brien

with 42 seconds left in the game to hand the Ducks their fourth straight
loss to the Huskies.

January 13th Huskies Sink Vikings / 100th Win For Coaches
Fri, Jan 9, 2004 - Husky Assistant Captain Sean O’Brien, despite not
being one hundred percent due to illness, played a critical role in the
Huskies taking the lead back in the second period over Western
Washington University (WWU). His game tying short handed goal evened
the score, and dealt the assist on the go ahead goal as the Huskies
prevailed 5-3 over the WWU Vikings in front of a packed OlympicView
Arena. [MORE]

Sat, Jan 10, 2004 - Coaches Dayley and Harris tally their 100th win in
5-1/2 years behind the Husky bench in 3-2 victory over WWU. This makes
their overall record 100-40-1. The first Husky goal was scored by Sean
O'Brien from a pass off Brad Hajner's stick in the second period. Adam
Senta scored a shorthanded goal off Cody Vandermyn's inital shot, and
Jared Pisinger netted the game winner from a pass setup by Doug Faust.

December 22nd A Warm Spot for Ice Hockey - Everett Herald
By Kirby Arnold
Herald Writer

Brett Lawrence would love to unwind with his buddies after every hockey
practice, but that might make him late for class in the morning.

He'd donate his left kidney pad for a booster to give the Husky Hockey
team a blank check and say, "Here you go boys, the trip to L.A. is on me."

And if anyone wants to tutor him and his teammates before finals week,
Lawrence would gladly take that, too.

Welcome to the world of a University of Washington club hockey player,
who survives a five-month schedule because of his passion for the sport
and the willingness to dig into his own pockets. [MORE]

December 9th Huskies Test Aggies, Yet Drop Two at Home
Fri. Dec. 5, 2003 - The Utah State University Aggies skated into Mountlake
Terrace with a number four next to their name in the ACHA-West power
rankings. Despite skating with USU, and some of the best hockey the
Dawgs have played this season, they were unable to upset the Aggies as
they dropped the first game in the series 4-1. [MORE]

Sat. Dec. 6, 2003 - The only thing missing from Friday’s loss to Utah State
University was goals, as the Huskies were able to get the shots but not
finish off USU goalie Chris Webber. In the second game of the series
Saturday night, the goals were there but a controversial late penalty
severely hindered the Dawgs chances of tying the game, as they dropped
their second consecutive game 5-4. [MORE]

November 28th Huskies Sweep Cougars 3-1, 3-2.

Nov 21 - Behind the solid play of the sophomore goaltender from
Kennewick, the Husky Hockey team capitalized on an early goal in the first
period. The momentum generated was enough for Harrow and the rest of
the Huskies to cruise to a 3-1 victory at OlympicView Arena Friday night.
More.

Nov 22 - In one of the hardest fought games of the season, Washington
goaltender Matt Harrow resorted to using snow angels in the crease to
keep the Washington State Cougars off the scoreboard. Stopping short of
standing on his head, Harrow used every move in the book to keep
Cougar pucks out of the net and propel the Huskies to their tenth win of
the season with a score of 3-2. More.

November 28th Huskies Stand at 11th in ACHA-West 2nd Ranking
The Huskies maintain their 11th spot in ACHA-West Ranking as of
November 16th. PAC8 Conference leader USC moves up the ranks to 3rd
in the ACHA-West after beating Utah State and Weber State. The Huskies
get their chance at 4th ranked Utah State at home, Dec 5 and 6, and then
USC on Jan 23rd and 24th.

November 21st Huskies Dominate Stanford Over Weekend
Fri. Nov 14 - Despite only having eleven skaters on hand and no head
coach at the onset of the first game between the Cardinals and the
Dawgs, Stanford University fared rather well against the Huskies. For the
first eight minutes that is. More

Sat. Nov 15 - Shayne Sasseen isn't exactly the biggest defenseman on
the Husky Hockey team. Between the bookends known as Jason Ruel and
T.J. Anderson, 2003 PAC8 First Team Defenseman Sasseen lives on the
blocked shots, pass interceptions, and the assists that he has become
known to deliver. However, last night Sasseen took a page out of the
Ruel and Anderson book and electrified the Huskies and the fans with one
bone-crushing hit, giving the spark needed to drop the Stanford Cardinals
for a second consecutive time, 10-2. More

November 11th Huskies Hand UCLA Two Losses
Nov 7, 2003 - The Huskies notch another PAC8 game win over UCLA, 8-5.
The Huskies dominated in the first period by 3 goals, however the Bruins
battled back in the second and third periods to score 4 goals to the
Huskies additional 4 goals. Charlie Walters led the team with 2 goals and
2 assists, with Brett Lawrence tallying 2 goals as well. Box Score Report

Nov 8, 2003 - The Huskies defeat the UCLA Bruins with an exciting 7-6
sudden death shootout Saturday night.
UCLA jumped out to a 1-goal lead in the first period until the Huskies
rallied to score 4 goals in the second period to UCLAs 2 goals. UCLA
jumped on the Huskies in the third to tie the game 6-6 at the end of
regulation. Brett Lawrence led the team with a hat trick and Jamie
O'Brien had 2 goals during regulation time. Sean O'Brien and Brett
Lawrence scored in the first round of the shootout, with Adam Senta
scoring the game-winning goal in sudden death. Goaltender Matt Harrow
stopped 5 out of the 7 UCLA shooters. Box Score Report

November 7th Huskies Sweep Ducks at Home to Start I-5 Cup

able to shake the ghouls that have cost them four consecutive games
and take the first game of a two game series against the University of
Oregon. More

Nov 1, 2003 - Penalties cost the Ducks again last night, as they dropped
their second consecutive game to the Huskies last night at OlympicView
Arena. More

October 31st Huskies Drop Two On First Road-trip to CA
Oct 24, 2003 - CAL-Berkeley jumped ahead in the first period by scoring 3
goals as the Huskies tried to find their water legs. Despite picking up the
efforts in the second and third period, the Huskies could not catch up to
the Golden Bears and dropped their first PAC8 game, 6-3. Doug Faust,
Michael Spector, and Brett Lawrence each tally a goal for the Huskies.
CAL out shot the Huskies 28-19.

Oct 25, 2003 - The Huskies pulled ahead of San Jose State early and led
by 2 goals by the beginning of the third period. However, the Spartans
rallied back and scored 3 unanswered goals in the last 7 minutes of the
game. The game-winning goal was scored with less than 1-1/2 minutes
left in the game when the net was knocked off, resulting in a 5-4 Husky

Oct 18, 2003 - Kyle Sargent of Eastern Washington scored four goals
and added two assists as the Eastern Washington Eagles were able to
down the Huskies for the second consecutive night, 13-4 at Olympicview
Arena. More

October 13th Husky Team Effort Takes Down Central Washington
Oct 10, 2003 - The Husky Hockey team started out the 2003-2004
season on the right foot last Friday night, exploding for a record setting
29 goals in a rout of Central Washington University 29-0. More

Oct 11, 2003 - Central Washington University and the ice hockey team
at the University of Washington both set skates down on Olympicview
Arena ice with a much different attitude than the night before, where
Central was out skated in every aspect of the game.

This attitude resulted in a much more physical game and a seemingly
revived CWU team, however even with the new attitude carried by the
Wildcats resulted in another lopsided loss of 15-0. More
