Assisting behind the Husky Hockey bench for the past 4 years is 32-year-
old Zoë Harris. Compiling a 72-19 record in 4 years along the side of
Coach Dayley, Harris assisted in achieving two Athletic Awards I-5 Club
Championship titles, one Intercollegiate PAC-8 Collegiate Hockey
Association (PAC-8) regular season 1st place finish, and two PAC-8
Championship Tournament 2nd place finishes. And, among 30 teams, she
helped improved the team’s record in the American Collegiate Hockey
Association (ACHA) West Regional’s ranking from “unranked” into single
digits.

Harris also spearheaded the development of the American Collegiate
Hockey Association’s (ACHA) Women’s Division (2000) and continues to
serve as the Women’s Division Vice President. Within two years
membership grew from 10 teams to 15 teams due to her and the
commissioner’s efforts. Three ACHA Women’s National Tournaments have
been held successfully under her guidance at several locations across the
country.

Prior to her appointment to the Husky Hockey team, Harris co-founded a
high school girl’s elite program called the 49th Parallel, which showcased
Northwestern US and Canadian talent to collegiate scouts. The program
placed over 20 girls in varsity Division I and III programs within two years,
and many with substantial scholarships. At the same time she directed
the Seattle Women’s In-Line Hockey team to a 1997 AIRHS National
Championship title after forming a team within four months. From 1995-
1997, Harris assisted in the formation of the first girls travel rep team in
the Seattle area, which was the first US female team to win the Canadian
Lower Female Hockey League regular season and championship title, with
a record of 19-0. The team also took third place in USA Hockey Regional
Championships and placed over half the seniors in a collegiate hockey
programs.

A native of Barrington, Rhode Island – Harris competed at the Junior
National level in both soccer and sailing, placing 10th in the nation in 1986
for junior female sailors. She played ice hockey for the University of Maine
Black Bears, where she assisted in the development of the women’s team
as president and captain for two years. She received the Coach’s Award
for dedication and leadership on and off the ice in 1991 and 1992. She
also participated in the 1992 Senior All-Star Game in Providence, RI – for
the top seniors in club and varsity collegiate ice hockey.

Coach Harris works for BSQUARE Corporation as an high tech Producer,
managing designers and engineers in user interfaces.
