| Behind the Husky’s
bench for the 1998-2000 season is Assistant Coach
Devin Harmala. On board for an Athletic Awards I-5 Cup Championship
title, and a PAC-8 Championship Tournament second place finish, Harmala
joins the Huskies for his third year.
Born and raised in southeastern Michigan, Coach Harmala
played junior
hockey in Detroit, Michigan area, and continued playing in competitive
men’s A leagues throughout the region. Coach Harmala went to school
at
the University of Michigan and studied Aerospace Engineering. He moved
to the Seattle Area in 1997, and is currently employed at the Boeing
Commercial Aircraft Group in Everett, WA in the New Airplane Product
Development group.
In his spare time, Coach Harmala enjoys gold,
ice hockey, hiking, and is an
avid mountaineer. He has completed numerous ascents of peaks in
Washington and Oregon, including all of the major volcanoes. Devin also
has plans for expeditions to high altitude peaks in South American,
Europe and Alaska.
