Huskies Take Top Honors in the ACHA-West Top Performers List

The Huskies placed two players in the #1 and #2 spots of the ACHA-West Top Performers Lists for the first half of the 2001-2002 season. This is the first time a Husky player has received this honor. Stats were tallied from 30 teams on the West Coast from approximately 540 skaters and 60 goalies.

Brett Lawrence (pictured right) placed 1st for top scorers with 16 games played, 28 goals, 25 assists, 53 points, 3.31 points per game, and 6 penalty minutes. Lawrence also tallied the most points, at 53, than any other player in the four ACHA Regions across the country, among 2,000 players. The second place finisher in the West had stats of 18 games played, 25 goals, 20 assists, 45 points, 2.50 points per game, and 18 penalty minutes.

Scott Southard (pictured right) placed 2nd for goaltenders with 11 games played totaling in 509.52 minutes, 19 goals against, 228 shots received, 209 saves, a 2.24 GAA and a 92.67 save percentage. The 1st place goaltender finished with 5 games played totaling in 267 minutes, 13 goals against, 164 shots received, 151 saves, a 2.60 GAA and a 92.10 save percentage.

Also placing on the ACHA-West Top Performers List were Shaun Lawrence in 6th place with 16 games played, 14 goals, 22 assists, 36 points, 2.25 points per game, and 30 penalty minutes; and Matt Carlson in 7th place with 14 games played, 17 goals, 17 assists, 34 points, 2.43 points per game, and 12 penalty minutes.
