In front of the largest and most rowdy crowd ever, the Huskies tallied two more wins to finish the 2001-2002 regular season with an ACHA record of 26-0 and a PAC-8 record of 17-0. With their first undefeated season ever in Husky Hockey history, the team won the final games against Stanford with scores of 6-2 and 5-0, also ending the perfect year with their first shutout of the season, by Senior goaltender Scott Southard.

Enjoying the victory and the season with the fans, the Huskies now turn their focus to the Intercollegiate PAC-8 Ice Hockey Championships, hosted by Stanford at the San Jose Icoplex in San Jose, CA – February 15-16, 2002. ACHA National Tournament invitation will also be sent to the top 4 teams in the West on February 6, 2002.

Husky Hockey moved up one spot on the ACHA-West January Ranking to 6th place. With one more ranking period slated before the end of the season, the Huskies hope for a top 4 seed, which would result in an invite to the ACHA DII National Tournament in New York, NY - February 27 - March 2, 2002. Ryan Reed shuts down 26 WSU shots

The Husky Hockey team defeated Western Washington University twice this past weekend with scores of 5-1 and 10-6. It improves the Husky’s ACHA-West record to 20-0. Link to Friday's Game Report and Saturday's Game Report.

The Husky Hockey team overcame staggering odds to start off the second half of the season as they swept Eastern Washington in Spokane for the fourth game in a row. Missing several key players and skating through “interesting” officiating, the Huskies swept the Eagles with scores of 7-1 and 6-4. Link to Friday's Game Report and Saturday's Game Report.

Evening Magazine of King 5 TV will be at the Friday January 11th game when the Huskies host the Western Washington Vikings. The TV magazine will shoot footage of the Husky team for a story they will air on February 1st at 7:00 pm on Channel 5 in the local NW area.  Everyone is invited out to join the crowd shots!

The Huskies placed two players in the #1 and #2 spots of the ACHA-West Top Performers Lists for the first half of the 2001-2002 season. This is the first time a Husky player has received this honor. The Huskies go into the Winter Holiday Break ranked 1st in the PAC-8 with a record of 11-0, and tied for 7th in the ACHA-West with a record of 16-0.

The team's first games off the break will be against Eastern Washington University in Spokane. The team hopes to retain several sick and injured players, with the goal to improve their ACHA-West record by beating the Eagles in their home rink.

Head Coach Cindy Dayley and Assistant Coach Zoe Harris tally their 60th career Husky Hockey win in 4 years by beating Eastern Washington University Friday night with a score of 5-3. The Coaches, who started in the 1998-1999 season, currently are 60-18 half way through the 2001-2002 season. Sharing the 60 wins are veteran players Marty Boyd, Brian Smith, and Scott Southard.

The Huskies added to their PAC-8 win record by beating USC Friday night 8-3 and then turning around and taking UCLA 16-1 on the road.

Defenseman Bryce Kennedy scored his first Husky Hockey hat trick against UCLA.

Husky Hockey beat the 2nd place Oregon Ducks this past weekend with scores of 4-1 and 5-3, further clinching first place in the PAC-8 Conference. The Huskies now lead the Ducks 2-0 in the Athletic Awards I-5 Cup series. Friday night Game Report and Saturday night Game Report.

All ACHA coaches are invited, as well as USA Hockey sanctioned level 3 or 4 officials. Officials will be certified in NCAA ice hockey rules and have priority in scheduling for the ACHA Husky Hockey game schedule.
