ACHA President Letter

Dear ACHA Members,

The recent attacks on America have effected all of us in many ways.  On behalf of the Board of Directors, our prayers go out to all victims, their families, and all ACHA players, coaches and volunteers who may have been touched first hand by this tragedy.

In a show of support for our country, the Board has voted unanimously to make available ACHA American Flag helmet stickers to go opposite the ACHA stickers on players' helmets.  We are asking each ACHA team, in all four divisions, to contribute $100 to the stickers.  The excess funds raised will then be donated, in the name of the American Collegiate Hockey Association, to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.  If we get 100% participation from ALL ACHA teams, we will be able to raise $12,000.  I realize money is tight in all of our programs, but if each player and coach merely chips in $3 or $4 dollars, each team can have the $100 instantly.

Time is of the essence.  Many of you have probably donated blood already and your efforts were very important.  The Red Cross has made it clear that they now have enough blood, and the #1 need right now is money. Please mail a check to Brian Moran, ACHA treasurer in the amount of $100 made payable to the ACHA.  In the memo section on your check mark Red Cross Donation.  If you can donate more than $100, please do so.  Please mail check to:

Make check payable to ACHA.

Please mail checks ASAP, by Friday, September 21, if possible.  Helmet stickers will be available no later than October 1, 2001.

Thank you for supporting the nation's relief efforts.

Sincerely,

Josh Brandwene
ACHA President
